What is TravelJar?
TravelJar is an AI travel expense tracker and receipt scanner. It converts receipt images into organized trip spending, preserved evidence, currency context, summaries, and exportable expense records.
How do I track travel expenses in multiple currencies?
Create a trip, set your home and destination currencies, and scan receipts as you spend. TravelJar preserves the original transaction currency and displays an approximate home-currency value with exchange-rate context.
Can I create an expense report from scanned receipts?
Yes. TravelJar organizes receipts under a trip and prepares a reviewable record with original images, extracted fields, validation status, item details when available, totals, taxes, currency context, and printable evidence.
Can TravelJar read long or multi-part receipts?
Yes. Travelers can add overlapping receipt sections from top to bottom. TravelJar combines the OCR results, suppresses duplicate lines, and keeps every original image for review.
Does TravelJar convert expenses into my home currency?
Yes. TravelJar preserves the transaction currency and can show an approximate home-currency value with the exchange-rate date and source.
Does Maya see my private receipts on this public page?
No. Public Maya explains TravelJar and routes visitors. Private trip, receipt, profile, and workspace context is available only after authentication inside the user’s own account.
What can travel businesses access?
TravelJar is designing a controlled partner pilot around consented, aggregated and de-identified travel-spending patterns. Businesses do not receive private addresses, identifiable receipt images or individual trip histories.
Are cash rewards and partner offers live?
Not yet. Phase one uses non-cash progress, missions and a clearly labelled rewards preview. Cash, rebates, coupons and partner offers remain disabled until funding, fraud, accounting, legal and redemption controls are approved.
What happens when receipt extraction is uncertain?
TravelJar keeps the field visible, marks it for review and preserves the original image for comparison. Missing information is never silently treated as verified.
Where can I install TravelJar?
The private web app is the available version today. Apple, Google and Microsoft store listings are shown as coming soon or planned until their real listings pass testing and approval.
Can TravelJar act without my approval?
TravelJar may analyze, explain, recommend, prepare, and navigate. Consequential external, financial, publishing, permission, rights, or irreversible actions require exact, scoped, expiring human approval.
